Foxes (aka Louisa Rose Allen) is yet another DJ’s discovery, this time Zedd discovered her and this song is her second hit. The album is dropping May 12th, though whether we get it, and whether we care, is a subject of some debate.
John Legend performs the terrible drag of an “All Of Me” on the Grammy’s once and the next thing you know he has a top ten hits. Legend is Alicia Keys in male drag and he is just as boring a performer though not without a certain amount of charm, true. None of that charm is at work here. None of it.

It is one of the wonderful things about the record biz. Dan Smith was a bartender writing songs on his laptop two years ago, and one, based upon the infamous city, went onto his first album. Both A Great Big World and Young The Giant are happy to be here, one of these bands got that sort of break everybody dreams of, and the other one did nothing of the sort, but both of them are on the charts and are suddenly like really real bands.
OK, where the hell is “Trumpets”? He played it at Jingle ball and it has been on the UK charts for a couple of months now, but while Jason is back with the admittedly good “Talk Dirty”, “Trumpets” is a killer hook on horns come to life.
While her only real competition Lady Gaga explodes in angst and betrayal on the business side, Perry does it on the personal side, and while neither album has proven itself a slam dunk in the pop charts (which is precisely what they needed) certainly Katy should sell out this tour.

You are getting sleepy, sleepy, close your eyes and snap you’re asleep. The US Charts are as slow as molasses. It takes a miracle to get in but once you are in you are there for months. Like 12 – 14 weeks they mess around the top 10. Only the surprise(ish) appearance of Katy have kept me awae.
So OK, I went 50-50 on Perry and Gaga, I didn’t think PRISM was dead a duck and it isn’t and I didn’t thing Artpop was dead as a duck and it is dead a duck. I don’t see why Gag doesn’t pull out “Gypsy” it has hit single written all over it
It is January 9th and nothing has happened in the world except “Frozen” is the fourth animated soundtrack to reach the top of the Billboard 200. It follows Jack Johnson’s “Curious George” (2006), and Disney’s “Pocahontas” (1995) and “The Lion King” (1994). One of which is actually good.
At the heart of so many 2013 big albums, is the lack of song, from Prism to Artpop, from New to Hesitation marks, from …Like Clockwork to Britney Jean, the lack of songs kills the albums in their tracks. They don’t get heard often enough and when and if you do give them the time they need to hit your pleasure button they don’t.
Katy isnt exactly known for being a scholar. Don’t get me wrong she could be a very intelligent woman but basically shes a blow up doll with a vocal range. BUT she does have presence so there you have it- let’s make her an ambassador!

Prism is a sad and sorry album and going gold in six weeks won’t do it (it took Eminem two weeks to go platinum). Katy Perry has a problem and where goes Perry goes Miley. Look at it this way: Eminem sold more in a week than Miley and Katy sold in a combined 14 weeks.
Anyone stupid enough to marry a sex addict shouldn’t whine it about and anybody who swaps Russell Brand for John Mayer is trading in models of the same car. Finally, the smug monster got caught out. Prism sounds like Katy Perry. Like they say in baseball, you are as good as your record. ‘Nuff said.

Eminem has sold as many copiess, nearly a million, as #2 – #32 combined. Eminem is a big star and the album is a serious continuation of Part One, but even so the explanation here is that sales fall off so precipitiously that once you’re past the Top 20 at best, they are essentually meaningless.
The deluxe version of her album contains seeds, apparently incorporated in handmade paper, and Australians have expressed some concern as the seeds may be a weed foreign to Australia and so a plant that could raise some biological security concern.
