Singles Going Steady – New Song Releases Week of January 26th, 2015
This is a spectacularly terrible song to lead off last year’s disastrous divorce album Turn Blue, an album which effectively derailed their career. Slow, depressing, atmospheric and the very definition of a pointless downer, Dan has suffered for his art, now it’s our turn – D+

Let's Play With Food For The Rock Stars
But let’s imagine for a minute all the possibilities for other bands. If it would be very easy to imagine any entrée inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Meat Loaf, Salt-N-Pepa, Spice Girls, the Black Eyed Peas, Korn
US Top 10 Albums 6-27-14
As bad as Lazeretto is, the vinyl sounds awesome: it plays backwards and forwards, there is a holagram of an angel, alternative songs depending on where you put the needle down. The result? The vinyl alone sold an astonishing 40,000 copies and vinyl alone? White would have been at # 4 on the charts. Meanwhile, that country album? Painfully bad.
The Black Key's "Turn Blue" Reviewed
After listening to this damn thing more times than I wanted to in my worst nightmare, I guess it isn’t… no, it is terrible. I guess I like Dan’s falsetto here and there and Patrick is a good drummer but it is a bad album which just plain doesn’t add up and any particular time. Well played and deeply felt, it is over arranged and enervating.
Spotify Message To You
It reminds me of those stupid subway “There is a traffic ahead of us, we are sorry for the inconvenience”. No, you’re not sorry, you’re a machine you have no feelings. So is Spotify. It is a software machine and it isn’t working hard because if it was it’d have El Camino. It is just sliughing you off with an inane and irritating comment.
Why Is The Black Keys' Patrick Carney Always Having A Beef With Someone?
Okay we got it, how old is he already? 34, and Bieber at 20 is still an immature spoiled kid, always in the news for some stupid driving or smoking, Carney is totally losing his time. Or is it a cry for attention? He actually did it again on Tuesday with another target this time, and although the guy is dead, this won’t be unnoticed by his millions of fans
Be Here Now: Snapshot Reviews Of New Album Releases, Tuesday, May 13th, 2014
White Women – Chromeo – I’ve never been much of a fan of this disco duo, never hit me as inventive as Holy Ghost for one, but they get it right here. High energy, melodic, if a little old fashioned. The Solange song is terrific the Ezra Koenig song uses his falsetto to great effect and the opening track masterful – ALBUM OF THE WEEK – B+
Sneak Peaks: New Record Releases May 12th, 2014
Did you read the Rolling Stone Black Keys review? “In every other way, that turmoil is a giant step into the best, most consistently gripping album the Keys have ever made.” I’ve heard one song and it stank so please excuse me while I sneer up my sleeves. I am gonna go with either Blondie -though it includes that EP from last year with Gossip which I liked I didn’t love. As for Dolly Parton, her last albu was killer so maybe it’s more a toss up.

The Black Key's "Fever" Sneered At
Really? This piece of bland out keyboard blues “Fever”? You are joking on me right. What do you think Peggy Lee makes of it? She must be laughing hysterically at this. Why didn’t the call it something else? How about head cold?
