The Black Key's "Fever" Sneered At

in the morning, fever all through the night…

Ever since suffering through a terrible set at MSG in 2011 I have never much cared for the Black Keys. Before then they irritated me ain a white Tsripes faux blues garage fakery duckery sort of way but after that big time and expensive ticket to the 17K plus MSG where they failed to come through I just thought, no, this ain’t worth the money.
And while Jack White managed to reinvent himself on the live circuit both Kings Of Leon and the Black Keys have remained irritating putzes and is it worth mentioning in passing that this is a pretty irritating song as well. This being the Black Keys newbie off their upcoming, first new release in three years, “Fever” which manages to take a nice splody beat in the first 30 seconds, add an organ for the next 30 seconds and go nowhere.
As for the name of the song? Really? This piece of bland out keyboard blues “Fever”? You are joking on me right. What do you think Peggy Lee makes of it? She must be laughing hysterically at this. Why didn’t the call it something else? How about head cold?
I mean really, three years for this paint by numbers? I’m no fan but I thought they were capable of better than this stuff.
Whatever, these guys irritate me at the best of time and if it took em four years to come up with this crap they’ve got a serious problem.
