To Stream or Not To Stream: Morrissey, "World Peace Is None of Your Business"

must..not..click

The long awaited new Morrissey album World Peace Is None Of Your Business is slated for release July 15 via Harvest Records.  Not too far away considering single tracks have been dropping since June and we’ve heard the buzz for much longer.

So, why bother waiting?  Last week Europe got the first dibs on bootleg streaming of the album and as of today you can hear it all at NPR.Org.  The question is- are you a streamer or are you able to wait til the official release date?

I am convinced I will wait.  My theory being once July 15th came it would be uneventful.  Similar to children peeking at their Christmas gifts and having to feign excitement on the holiday morning- it takes away the magic of it all.  July 15 would be just another day.  I can tell you that in the Morrissey camp I am the minority.  Like rabid dogs the fans have jumped on the stream wagon and have been Tweeting random lyrics for days now.  The critics are dropping their reviews (as if any real fan cares what anyone else thinks) and the buzz is so loud its becoming impossible to avoid.

The ‘spoilers’ are front and center and its becoming more and more difficult to avoid.  Its not so much a case of “Who Killed JR?”(if youre old enough to remember that!) but its coming to point where I am going to have to shut down any social media to avoid it.  Its less than a week, right?

Then again so what if July 15th isnt magical? Today could be magical if I just clicked that link.. one tiny click and I’d have the entire album whizzing through the air…  NPR.Org
