The 54th Grammy Awards are next Sunday, and the Beach Boys will be performing for the first time in 2 decades, as announced by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Three of the original quintet formed in 1961, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, as well as David Marks and Bruce Johnston, who joined the band a little later, will form a line-up which will be as close as possible to the original one.
This is good news, but the bad news is that they will perform with two nominees,… Maroon 5 and Foster the People.
Ok I have nothing against the LA electro pop trio, they had a hit and went very far with that ‘Pumped Up kicks’ song, good for them, but Maroon 5??? Oh noooooo!!!!
These guys have zero originality, they are just generic current pop with cheap moves. This is the worst idea ever, and don’t tell me they are gonna play that ‘Moves like Jagger’ song with Brian Wilson! This awful tune was beyond annoying and I still wonder why Jagger didn’t sue them.
And please, I don’t want to see shirtless Adam Levine singing ‘God Only Knows What I’d Be Without You’, that would spoil the song forever.
