I used to be one of those kids. I could barely sleep the night before, woke up stoked, and spent the entire day covered in sweat, running around to catch the fifteen plus bands I wanted to see, and meeting friends. This year, I realized that I’ve officially grown out of Warped
As soon as I mentioned that he’s been referred to as “the voice of a generation”, he did a full body cringe. “I don’t know who called me that that could be anyone. Anyone on the internet could say things good or bad. I try not to take the bad too seriously, nor the hyperbolic good.
I don’t know what was worse. The fact that he made me wait half an hour, or the fact that he basically just provided me a six minute crappy interview. Maybe it was how I waited half an hour for a six minute crappy interview.
Every Time I Die deserves to be playing better shows than Warped. They didn’t have nearly enough people watching their set, which was disappointing, because they truly gave it their all. Warped is taxing and exhausting, and the guys in ETID didn’t miss a beat. Be sure to catch them at your Warped date, and check out their new album.
It’s just another example of a few bad apples ruining things for everyone else. I’ve never seen any forms of real dangerous violence at Warped Tour, and I have watched some of the heaviest band throughout the years that I’ve gone. Sure, anyone in the pit is gonna get a bit beat up, but that’s what they’re there for
I still feel the Warped magic but I have come to discover that it’s not just the bands doing it but the entire ‘fest’ environment. It’s hot, its filthy and its tradition.
The bold letters are so huge, you would have to be blind to miss anyone wearing this from miles away
I can tell you that this was by far the most harmonious tour I have ever seen.
