Broadway Theater
"Newsies" At The Nederlander Theater, Sunday, November 15th, 2013, Reviewed
Jack Kelly (Corey Cott), leader and legend among the newsies, heads the strike that results from an increase in the fees the boys are charged for the newspapers they hawk on the streets
"Beautiful", The Carole King Jukebox Musical, Opening On Broadway
So they are really selling us something before it is actually in place? I dunno but with the exception of “Jersey Boys” and “Mamma Mia” every single Jukebox Musical has been an artistic Armadgeddon including “Motown”. So great music won’t even begin to save em.
Il Divo To Broadway
I don’t think I’ll ever be the target audience for this one, my own taste in classical is harder and my own taste in Broadway is not to having Italian boy bands sing it. Il Divo are playing November 8th through November 13th, with the 10th off.
"Let It Be" Bows Out
I received a $25 coupon and for $25 I was gonna try it but when I went to use it, they would only sell me $80 for the last row and I passed. Now that greed has killed it off
Magic Mike On Broadway
Where are our playwrights? Wheres the next big thing and why are we making cheesy shows based upon movies??
The Book of Mormon, Eugene O'Neil Theater, Saturday, July 27th, 2013, Reviewed
“Do you really think that a man fucked a frog?”
"Kinky Boots" at Al Hirschfeld Theatre, Wednesday, July 17th, Reviewed
Kinky Boots” is not a masterpiece, but it is a smart, tuneful and decent piece of Musical Theatre. It deserves its awards
Sondheim Gets Hollywood Stars for "Into The woods"
while it would be hard pressed to be lamer than the 1970s movie of “A Little Night Music” starring Liz Taylor, the cast seems equally ridiculous so who knows?.
Bacharach writing musical with Elvis Costello and Chuck Lorre
This is a pretty interesting project combining Burt and Elvis and a comedy writer. It almost seems a bit far fetched if not a practicle joke in itself.
Rodgers And Hammerstein's "Cinderella" At the Broadway Theater, Tuesday February 5th, 2013
The singing is tedious and professional and so is the orchestra, this is a passionless drag and though both my niece (who is 40 years old) and my Great Niece (who is 10 years old) liked it, I bet they can’t name one song.
Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons At the Broadway Theater, Friday, October 27th, 2012
With every opportunity for Valli to reaffirm the bands preeminence in the world of popular music, he performed a poorly constructed set of misses, hits, plus some prime 60s hits to cash in on his resurrected fame. I realize that’s too harsh, but I’m disappointed
"Priscilla Queen Of The Desert" Reviewed, Friday, January 20th, 2012
What do you expect when you go to a Broadway Musical filled to overflowing with 1980’s disco hit songs telling the story of two drag queens and a transgendered person in Australia? You expect a gay fantasia somewhere in the land where camp, cliche and homosexual equality lives? Good. Grade: B+
