Steven Tyler, Sticking Up For the Farm Animals

First off I don’t know when this photo was taken but.. he looks much much healthier than he has in the past.  So thats a good thing!  Although I don’t believe Mr Tyler is a vegetarian he is a good guy in his new attempts to help animals.

Tyler took time from touring to speak before the Massachusetts legislature on the extreme confinement of farm animals in his fine state.

He says: “ Massachusetts holds a very special place in my heart. Not only is it known for being ahead of the curve on important progressive issues, it’s also the birthplace of Aerosmith. That’s why I was thrilled to learn from my friends at The Humane Society Of The United States about a critical bill that would ban the extreme confinement of animals used for food.

“Veal and gestation crates cause unspeakable suffering and with the success of crate-free environments, they are proven unnecessary. I hope to see the passage of the bill without delay.”

Will it help?  Doubtful.  There is a new wave of animal compassion going on but gestational crates as they’re called dot the rural land of most of the northeast- as a vegan its brutal to see.  I would love to set them all free- not exactly a wise move but an effort in compassion.

This is a small step in the right direction. When ‘celebrities’ step up and make statements more press is created for the cause so I am 100% down with that.  C’mon Mass, ban this barbaric and cruel practice.
