I have been writing about this odd event for 5 years now. Middle aged yahoo’s with a dream of being a rock star get to call in babysitters and use accrued vacation time at the office to get crazy for a couple grand- for a couple days.
Now I am all for living the dream and I am not even doubting the healing properties of pretending to be Madonna but for some reason this entire concept cracks me up. Its not like a survival or a spa like experience- you pretend to be something you will never be for a week- and you pay up for it.
I think that the Camp should send me to experience it- go on invite me in cuz this year its happening at Foxwoods right here in my little Nutmeg State.
For six grand you can take classes and have lunch and elbow with other people who hate their suburban nightmare lives and wish they were in Poison.
Wait youll catch a glimpse of some notables including Roger Daltry but if you think you’ll meet him you’re out of your mind- no way.
Instead you get ‘counselors’ who have been on tour with the likes of The Eagles, what they did on those tours is not mentioned. Did I mention you have to book your own hotel room? Not included in your package nor is the ‘paparazzi’ for $500 you can have some dude follow you around taking picture. You should be ashamed of yourself but imagine how fun it will be to tell the guys back at the insurance company about your big week!
