Naill’s problem here is that he gave the game away, he was expressing his contempt not for women, not for his Mommy, but much much worse, for fans. How can he love something he just can’t see? How can he be loved by people who only want him to fulfill a ritual.

No word of a US charge on the charts yet, 2013 would be my bet. But even in 2012 they’ll be a huge market for this sort of heads down no nonsense riffararama. More lues based than metal is Stateside 2012, but they are a thrill ride: you’ll like em.

The Hives are the opening act. And the Hives are an excellent fun type rock band live on stage… just real straight forward but huge amounts of fun and a pretty good fit for Pink’s smartass modern pop group.

KoL have spent their time plotting (I guess!) and right now they are in the studio working on album # 6, their first since 2010 and already have some concert dates set for the UK in the summer of 2013, can the US be far behind???
ZZ has been doing this awhile, her dad is a blues guitarist, and she takes the packed out nightclub completely in stride, chatting carelessly, pushing her album Till The Casket Drops and pushing her voice only when it makes sense. The songs are bruised break up songs, all written for the same guy and all played with an intense smartness back by a very good band.
Amy Klein of Hilly Eye has been a fave of mine since her Titus Andronicus days and this, Amy andthe other half of Hilly Eye, Catherine Tung’s first album, is very very exciting stuff. For one thing, it is on our favorite record label, Don Giovanni, and for another, last year’s EP was one of our faves of 2011
To add insult to injury, Robbie quotes his own record label, who have made a fortune off the man, complaining to Robbie that he might want to try something a little more suited to his age… Robbie didn’t appreciate the suggestion and they were, of course, supremely wrong
f you are in the UK right this minute, this is what you do, you check out this nostalgia line up, a who’s who of 70s pop charts. The best? Hot Chocolate. Given another shot at the big time, Errol Brown and go, who were to soul what Thin Lizzy were to metal, would make it all the way to the States and not be stuck on “You Sexy Thing”. I have never seen em live, but I would sure love to.
The album breaks down into three parts, rockers, blues rockers, ballads. The rockers aren’t great but they aren’t bad, and the ballads are just plain brutal. Steve Tyler has always sucked at ballads but we are saps for guys with long wigs too much feeling so he can’t help but roll em out. On Dimension it truly sinks the damn thing..
It sounds likeGreen Day covering early Green Day covering the Buzzcocks playing the Clash’s Give ‘Em Enough Rope. It is, in its own way, nearly insanely catchy and it acknowledges their age while thumbing their noses at it
OK, looks pretty heavy duty to me. If you haven’t seen SN live, they will really wow you. A funk, r&b, hip hop real deal mash up and that isn’t even do them credit. Believe me, I pity any band following Shinobi on stage!
