When I told some of my friends here in NY that I was going to see Cliff Richard they all looked puzzled and said “Who is Cliff Richard” Not one of them had ever heard of Sir Cliff (How very dare they I say) Needless to say I did not expect to see such a huge crown of fans when I arrived at the venue, there were fans from Canada, Australia Europe and of course the Brits! At 6.30pm they opened the doors and in we went.
I followed my friend Iman and of course he managed to get us the best seats in the house (I would expect nothing less from him) As we sat waiting we were singing Cliffs songs which included “We’re all going on a Summer Holiday” to our surprise Cliff burst on to the stage and opened up with, yes you guessed “we’re all going on a Summer Holiday” the fans were so happy.
Cliff asked the fans if there were any actual New Yorkers in the audience as he thought that no one in America has heard of him, I think only a handful of people raise their hands, now I understood why none of my friends had never heard of him, in fact one person I told I was going googled him then joked that they hope there is “wheelchair access” No need for wheelchair access with Sir Cliff, at age 73 he is as youthful as he was at 23. Dressed very stylish and in his Skinny jeans he danced and sang as if he were still a teenybopper, I felt like I was in the audience of a taping of “Top of the Pop”. Cliff was soft spoken and polite and his fans just loved him.
Cliff put on a great show, he looks great and sings great and I am sure he will be performing for many years to come!
