– Serenade – Franz Schubert – No less than Franz Liszt dubbed Schubert our most poetic composer and really this melody echoes effortlessly through time, it is beyond gorgeous, and dating from 1826 he wasn’t yet 30 (and wouldn’t make it to 31), pop learnt how to compose melodies from this guy, hell Gershwin learnt off this guy – A+

– New York City – John Lennon – Que pasa, dude? – A

– Never Let You Go – Rudimental, Foy Vance – I dislike Foy Vance in theory, in practice I don’t remember a damn thing he has done… this is a great little disco track – B

– Be The Song – Foy Vance – OK so now I remember my problem with him, he is a drag – C+

– Motherfucker – Faith No More – Their first album in 20 years and I guess it is causing a ruckus of sorts, the guitar sounds like a bagpipe… but it isn’t a good song – C+

– Iris (Hold me Close) – U2 – If you like this overblown crap, you love U2 beyond reason – C

– In The Car – Paul Weller – Why doesn’t he shut his face and do “In The City” – C

– I Can See for Miles – The Who – It is the and miles and miles stuff that makes it great – A+

– Bleeder – Ceremony – Blah beyond belief – C

– All Of Me – Tanlines – This is their big hit, catchy handclapper and much livelier than their usual stuff – B
