At what time is enough enough? At what place does U2s greed morph into bad vibes? I’ll tell you. At the place where the band sell their presale code for their shows to fans at $50. That should do it, that should be enough for people so say “Oh, ok, we got it, whatever else you may claim the truth is, after ripping us off big time on the prices of these concerts, after guilting us to spend money we don’t have on phoney baloney charities, how about really ripping us off again? How about charging us even more just for the chance to get in line early?”
If you want a presale code for U2 at their Madison Square Garden gigs on July 18, 19, 22 & 23, you will have to be a paid up fanclub member and the lowest point of entry is $50. So while other people might have AMEX or Citibank or Facebook presales, the only way to get a presale for U2 is by giving them more money. It is like you have to bribe them to sell you a ticket.
U2 at MSG will be a tough ticket whether or not they haven’t had a hit in 15 years, and a ticket broker will double the price on you at the least so it is very very tempting to cut the line for fifty bucks, tempting but rotten. I myself went on their fanclub lick it was a shemale club and I only wanted to see what it looked like, and it is so busy you can’t even pay em $50 to get a code to get a ticket -I kept on getting an error message so I gave up… I haven’t seen U2 at MSG since the 9-11 gigs, so that’s over ten years, it will be hard as hell to get em, and this just makes it worse.
U2 are completely tone deaf, they just don’t live on Planet 99% any more, they have no concept how real people live at all and they really don’t care. It is just bad news, it’s just nasty stuff. Forcing people who can’t afford it to dig deeper is U2’s MO, they always do it and now they’ve done it again. Hell, even Taylor Swift gave the presale codes free to her fanbase, don’t U2 have enough money where they are forcing us to dig even deeper? Innocence postponed? This is about as innocent as paying your sister for a handjob.
