10 cc
10 cc

1. The Dean And I (Live) – 10cc – If 10cc are the English Steely Dan, this is the 10cc “Reeling In The Years” –a great farewell to Manchester University. The live stuff is meaningless –it aint that alive and the original is where to get the humdrum out – B+

2. The Way I Was Made – Griffin House – This is a big song for me right this moment, especially the verse where he gets the inmates to sing along – A-

3. Dead (Peel Session) – The Pixies – Not a fan but this sounds like it was recorded today, a screeching haltering, beat fractured exercise in post punk – B

4. Taste It – Little Boots – Her beats are slick but the sound ain’t sticky enough – B-

5. Right On Track (Live At Rubber Tracks) – The Griswolds – Better than Arctic Monkeys – B+

6. Alexander’s Ragtime Band – Willie Nelson – Guess what Willie does with it? He slows t down…! – B+

7. Bed On Fire – Butch Walker – Like Kings Of Leon only slower – B-

8. Call On Me – The Bangles – It is amazing how fully formed the demos make em sound, no they’d don’t have the melodies quite there, or the arrangements, but the harmonies are on the money

9. Steve Albini’s Blues – Songs: Ohia – Strong bluesy morbidly which tugs you under its spell – B+

10. Sidecar – Katleen Edwards – Such a shame she quit the biz – A
