What is gossip and what isn’t gossip? It’s hard to tell sometimes, but when you have a video, it’s not gossip anymore, it’s a fact! I was not sure I would even bother writing about this ‘shocking’ video posted on the website TMZ but, as a long-time hater of the royal hip hop couple, it was too juicy to pass! I have to admit I first got a bit ashamed of myself to spend some time reading all these gossipy comments below the video, hundreds and hundreds of them posted on TMZ website, thousands of them on the corresponding Facebook page, plus many others on the numerous websites reposting the story, but I got in the grove as some of them were funny! Even Pitchfork is talking about it, it’s a big story because Jay Z, with all his money, couldn’t control it, it leaked to the world and he must be so mad now.
So if you were under a rock on Monday, let’s say that TMZ obtained a security camera footage of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z in an elevator of a New York City hotel, the same night that the recent Met Gala. And when I say attacked, she wasn’t faking it, she looked furious, she assaulted him and even kicked him in the face. The strangest thing in the story is Beyoncé in the middle of this mess, looking more neutral than Switzerland during World War II, not taking a side, not trying to stop the fight… What was that? She looked like someone either terribly used to it or transformed into a zombie, Jay Z’s zombie may be?
Since the footage has unfortunately no audio, suggestions about what happened went wild. First there were the sexist ones, suggesting that Solange forgot to take her meds, this or she was the jealous type, and got mad at Jay Z because he has had so many hit songs while she can’t get even one? Are you stupid? This fight was about something that had just happened, it was not the result of an old grudge, she was very, very upset. Then there were the comments paying respect to the man for not hitting back… well Jay Z is not stupid, he knows what happened to Chris Brown, and he can control himself. But a large amount of comments were suggesting that Solange was defending her sister, and was reacting violently because Jay Z did something really bad, he cheated on the B-queen (probably), or he even beat her? Comments went wilder and wilder:
‘I heard Jay Z possibly has a potential son out here while him and Beyonce were on a break so maybe Solange just got word and is sticking up for her older sister.’
‘Rumors…but one states that they heard them screaming about Jay getting caught with someone by Solange. Solange told Bey whom kept her calm until they left. But Solange couldn’t. At the end you see Bey yelling at Jay. Could be a rumor though but whats being said. Sad. It just shows money still brings problems.’
‘Beyoncé condoned that which meant that Jay Z must’ve done something that both women disagreed with. Most likely cheated or got someone pregnant (which is rumored-some Russian model).’
But why does Beyonce stay so stoic? Couldn’t she help with the beating a little bit? Ha it’s because Jay Z controls her, totally! And he may even beat her:
‘Solange posted that he hits Beyonce on her instagram then deleted it at 8 this mornin but I got the screenshot soo she had every right. the screenshot on my page.’… ‘coworker showed me Solange instagram post and she called him out. So just saying sisters dont go ham for no reason.’
I don’t know, I haven’t found anything, but of course there were a million TMZ interns on the case before me, so Solange’s Instagram was down for me, or already protected… In any case, this story shows how ugly the behind-the-scenes can be, may be Beyonce is not having her fairy tale princess’ life after all? May be the couple’s jet set society life, in the perfect world where everything is beautiful is totally fake?… I guess this comment may be right on: ‘This story is going to be HUGE. There is so much behind what we are seeing here. This family is notoriously private militant minded about not having the public know their “secrets”…. which leads me to believe they have many.’
But I want to slap in the face the next person who adds another dumb joke about Jay Z’s 99 problems,… you are not funny, have you read the 3,000 comments above? Ironically, the bodyguard pressed stop in the elevator so the fight could stay private,… you can tell it didn’t work. What is the moral of the story? There is none, except that, if you are famous and do something ‘bad’ in a public place, expect it to be posted on the internet in a few days.
