Comedy band GWAR fascinate me. Actually, their fans do. I can’t fathom who would find this at all entertainment as I find it almost an insult to my intelligence. Dressing up as ‘intergalactic warlords’ of metal is just so…redneck. These are 50+ year old me who call themselves things like Oderus Urungus, these are the guys who have that automated singing fish hanging on their garage wall, these are the Ford 150 owners, these are the people I simply can’t understand.
This actually puts me in a great minority. I have discussed GWAR with GWAR fans and often stood jaw dropped at their allegiance to this band-their shtick actually makes it impossible for me to listen to their music and the sheer magnitude of their back story is just not worth my time to sort out.
Much like KISS but of sincere less magnitude, ya gotta have a hook in this crazy business. Here is a latex one to bask in. For the past 5 years they have hosted a GWAR B Q, and this is where my story begins and ends.
I would not even have mentioned this even as it is out of our scope in Virginia but I couldn’t let the even poster pass us by. I am no womans libber that’s for sure but this one- it’s pretty head tilting. Woman as a piece of meat, bet your bottom dollar some womens group is going ot make a ruckus about this one. That is if it gets enough attention to enter their radar.
GWAR B Q is a two stage music event where you can have a hunk of woman’s ass I presume rare or well done.
“This truly auspicious event is going to far surpass all other GWAR-B-Q’s in terms of bodies consumed on our never-ending altars of gluttony,” says front-thing Oderus Urungus. “Plus there will be more places to go to the bathroom than ever before.”
The event takes place on August 16, the anniversary of the Death of Elvis, coincidence? Of course it is but if anyone is going to this even can you please report back to us? I’d love to see how it went.
