How many people are attending Coachella? How many people did see the Black Lips performance? And not a single picture of the thing? They will eventually show up, with some YouTube videos, I am sure, but I could not find one when I wrote this.
I wanted to watch the Black Lips on YouTube Coachella, but fuck, no luck there either, as they were not broadcasted! Why? Do they think the Kaiser Chiefs or Noel Gallagher are so much better?
Anyway, according to many blogs reporting from the festival, The Black Lips were playing at the Mojave Desert tent at the beginning of the afternoon, and it was wild with the usual moshing and crowd surfing, then the band got involved, and became tossing beers into the crowd. Just after ‘Bad Kids’. Frontman Cole Alexander, probably out of pure excitation, dropped his pants, exposed himself to the crowd and strummed his guitar with his… yes… penis, dick, ding-dong, whatever you call it.
So was it a good move? Shocking enough? So déjà vu? Jim Morrison did it in the late 60s!! Still, the Black Lips managed to get some press, even on Christwire.org, which might have more to do with Jared Swilley's father being a big time Pastor who came out of the closet a coupla years ago. Those Swilley's just keep on giving!
Oh but isn’t everybody in Coachella already laying naked on the grass anyway?
