If I had my hour back this Sunday morning as I write this post, you know what I'd do with it? I'd write this post about how awesome it is to live in the music capital of the world… but no instead I'm, oh, yeah…
1. Ludlow Street – Julian Casablancas wrote a song about it and why not? It is the Red Light District of rock and roll, a Street so cool there must be 30 bands a night you can check out while you go on the pub crawl rock and roll of a life time.
2. Bowery Electric – Nothing ever dies mama, this is the place where the stars of CBGVs who made it through to the 21st Century come home to play again and act their age again.
3. Lincoln Center: Where jazz, classical, opera and ballet go to show off.
4. Hip Hop was birthed in the Bronx? Punk in the Bowery.
5. Summerstage – where World Music comes to party!
6. Where else can you be snubbed by Lou Reed AND David Byrne?
7. There's music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air.
8. Concerts at ABC No Rio where the ceiling is crumbling and warmth is provided through body heat.
9. Killing Joke or Blackstreet or Diana Krall? Decisions decision on an average night out…
10. Williamsburg – the hippiest place on earth
11. Buskers in the subway
12. Buskers on the street.
13. Take The A Train.
14. Take The L Train
15. The Brill Building? It's still there.
16. More rock clubs per square feet then anywhere else on Earth.
17. Shea Stadium didn't die, it became a rock and roll club.
18. March Madness means the Allman Brothers at the Beacon Theater.
19. The only place on Earth where Jay-Z is overexposed.
20. Where a natural disaster is just an excuse for a concert.
21. The Stones didn't play Atlanta now, did they?
23. The Governors Ball – Where you can take the subway home from our own three music fest.
24. Axl came and partied for THREE WEEKS. Nothing else could keep him amused for that long.
