Week 22:
Live: A good week for concerts. I went three for three, Lady Gaga followed by Lily Allen, followed by Elbow and all three were a whole lot of fun, though I think, maybe, Elbow were best. Still, two of these will make my best of the year list and the third maybe should as well.
Recorded: The week belongs to Chromeo, who, in a head to head battle with Dolly Parton forced me to own up that this is not her best album to date. OK, I’ve changed my mind, I like the new Morrissey just leave me alone.
World News: Aren’t those two hundred girls still kidnapped? Apparently the world has moved along.
Sports: The Yanks and the Mets split the subway series, proof they are equally crappy and the Yanks are too old and breaking down.
Local News: As Bill de Blasio brings back the welfare state all I have to say is don’t tax me more, keep the trains running and leave me alone.
Television: The Upfronts were this week and they are really the biggest buncha boring bastards in the world. How can they make TV so unsexy?
rock nyc: OK, it looks like the website is back up and running forever and ever since we moved on to a new server. Thanks to Pablo Calvo who interrupted his vacation to bail us out and then didn’t let us pay. Here is hoping he joins ROCKNYCMUSICLLC, it would be great to have a good IT guy on board. That and a lawyer and we should be set.
