Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the year along with Female Vocalist and Album of the Year to beg two questions. 1) what are the grammy’s gonna do with her and 2) what’s she going to do for an encore? Honestly, Fearless is an excellent album and the extended Platinum version is better but she isn’t a great live performer and the difference between Swift and Spears is that Spears is a studio product and presents herself as such and Swift is a down home country gal and for all the spills and thrills of over the top live staging, in order to play with the big girls, with not even the Loretta Lynns, the Judds and the Dixie Chicks, Taylor must learn how to plat live a heck of a lot better. If I managed her? Once the tour is done I get her in the Nashville clubs to work on the follow-up and learn how to do her job. After a looooong rest of course.
Otherwise, Darius Rucker New Performer of the year? I heard the album and its a goodie but Hootie is hardly new. “In Color” deserved album of the year and it Jamey Johnson who shoulda got best new performer and good for Brad Paisley though it isn’t anywhere he hasn’t been before.
