Where is Don Henley? Not quite the Eagles greatest hits is it now? And for good reason, of course. As for Selena, this is her fifth album (plus a greatest hits) and for someone so describable, she is truly non-descript. She sings slow burn diva soul songs with top pop producers. It leaves me shrugging and unable to remember much of her material, even the A$AP Rocky one hasn’t much stuck.

Billboard Not by The Numbers

By Iman Lababedi | September 16, 2015

This is a real mess, nothing about Billboard’s charts means the slightest thing any more. For instance, Billboard had a post about how “Selena Gomez celebrates her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs airplay chart, as “Good for You” rises 2-1.” Fine, but since it is # 7 in the Hot 100 what does it mean and what does it matter?

Not With The Band: Which Band Of Today Will Be Relevant In 10 Or 20 Years?

By Alyson Camus | January 5, 2015

Today, there is certainly a lot of mediocrity, any American Idol, X Factor product is an example for me! But at the same time, there is a lot of excellent music, it is just harder to find it because of the enormous amount of bands formed every year and songs released each day!

Miley Cyrus Disses Selena Gomez On Stage

By admin | June 18, 2014

To be fair, the exposure is probably good for Selena because her career has tanked and she’s struggling to stay relevant anyway. What I don’t understand is why Miley needs to start a feud when she is clearly the one who is more successful and famous than many of her previous fellow Disney stars.

Z100 Jingle Bell 2013 At Madison Square Garden, Friday, December 13th, 2013, Reviewed

By Iman Lababedi | December 14, 2013

EDM is so folded into popular music that it didn’t appear as a THING at all, so according to Z100, pop music 2013 is dance pop and that’s really it. Perhaps they are right, or perhaps it was just a bad year for Z100 talent promoters.
