Nobody seems to agree if you read some of the comments on Youtube, but everyone is looking for a deep meaning behind these images,… just because it’s Lykke Li, it must be deep. She may be a ghost, a wandering spirit, a lost person reliving the past, a schizophrenic…
Not long after a delicious and ferocious ‘Get Some’, she came back for an encore, to sing this familiar song in Swedish and the totally glorious ‘Sadness Is A Blessing’, which has to be Li’s gospel. She was holding her wounded rhythms at arm length and everyone in the room was with her

Spinners – The Hold Steady – For a band I like so much, these guys are sure hit and miss, either it is the same old riff up hook up with speak sing vocals or they nail it down like it is the only song that matters. This is the former except the guitar is tastier than it was, ringing and chiming like never before – B
I have posted both songs below and you just have to compare. Lykke Li’s ‘new’ song is the theme called ‘Romance’ and allegedly composed by Spanish guitarist Narciso Yepes at a very young age, but no I don’t want to sound pedantic suddenly!
Poor Alyson couldn’t get a ticket, and the Apollo was an almost instantaneous sell out and I kind of get it; Lykke is a real songwriter who digs down deep. I mentioned Robyn facetiously earlier but really. they are both songwriter’s songwriters: there is an expertise here that’s all but undeniable
You should prepare your Kleenex before listening, but I guess I could have gone with the song without the clip! It’s a poignant tune with a very emotional Lykke Li and nothing else than an acoustic guitar to back her up, a sort of ballad written to break your heart
Spring always looks great, but this year it will even sound very good: two women with foreign-sounded names and whose music I really like, are going to release an album in May.You can all find them on Youtube, but I prefer not to spoil everything in advance. The month of May us gonna be glorious.
