Bite this

Bite this

1. Spinners – The Hold Steady – For a band I like so much, these guys are sure hit and miss, either it is the same old riff up hook up with speak sing vocals or they nail it down like it is the only song that matters. This is the former except the guitar is tastier than it was, ringing and chiming like never before – B

2. Pour It Up – Rihanna – Apparently she nearly bankrupted herself on her last tour and what a waste since she couldn’t replicate this great stripper jam – A

3. Mean To Me – Billie Holiday – The simpliest of puns hold out the slim hope – A+

4. Under The Pressure – The War On Drugs – Not bad guitar moods except at 8 minutes it goes on too long – B+

5. No Rest For The World – Lykke li – I wonder if I can sell my tix on Stubhub – B-

6. Sea Of Heartbreak – Rosanne Cash – I had a dream about Bruce Springsteen yesterday, he was performing a private gig, he was very overweight, and he didn’t recognie me – A

7. The Next Voice You Hear – Jackson Browne – Jazzy weirdness but it works for me – B

8. Air – Sally Eaton – Bless you alcohol blood stream… – A

9. The Scientist – Coldplay – Their best song which is why they’ve played it at every gig since they wrote it – A

10. Busy Earnin’ – Jubgle – Very buzzy dance band and for good reason – A-
