Ed Sheeran’s fifth week at the top of the UK charts with an amazing 400K units moved and more power to him even if I don’t like the album as much as all those folks, the best moments have grown on me. Active Viewin': rock nyc Concert Picks For The Week Of June 9th, 2014

The last time I saw James Chance backed by the True Groove Allstars he stopped the show at the Cutting Room, now the No Wave maestro is back for what should be the gig of the year. Pushing the remastered and deluxe Buy (I wrote the liner notes) and with Marla Mase -who has an excellent new release herself, opening, this should be a huge huge huge gig. Don’t miss this Thursday June 12th at the Cutting Room.

Oh how the circumstances have changed indeed, Conor’s comeback album already forgotten and that album was too long as well. The best lengthed album this week was Haunted Heart –clocking in at a jaunty 30 minutes, you can stick it on repeat and wait for “Something That Feels Bad Is Something That Feels good” to show up againt.
