Welcome back La Roux
Welcome back La Roux

1. Let Me Down Gently – La Roux – We haven’t heard from the  neo-new romantic 80s inspired disco duo  since 2009 but this lovely dance ballad is a haunting beauty and harbors very well for their return; hang out for the tempo change in the middle – A-

2. Cry. – Mariah Carey – Astounding top notch full on ballad from the weirdo pop diva – A

3. Afraid Of Nothing – Sharon Van Etten – Third knockout ballad in a row – A-

4. Every Little Thing – Roykscopp and Robyn – Excellent house pop – A-

5. I’ll Go To My Grave Loving You – Kelly Willis And Bruce Robison – Jaunty little number made bfamous by the Statler Brothers and given a lovely work out here. Maybe I underestimated the album – B+

6. I Wish – Cher Lloyd, T.I. – Never the same after his prison stint, he is still the rapper of record for many a chick dance star – B-

7. Love Incognito – Haunted Hearts – Simply gorgeous pop song, very dramatic and lovely – A-

8. I Am Not Afraid – Owen Pallatt – Too often Pallatt can miss the song but he gets it here, but the haunted  violins add to a mood of hopeful dread – B+

9. Cloudkicker – Trash Talk – Best song on the album because of a nifty guitar lick – B

10. Carry Me Home – The Ready Steady – Very pretty emo rocker – B
