You probably know this feeling, you wake up and feel depressed and down for whatever reason and suddenly something makes you smile. Rejoice, the FOX cartoon Bob’s Burgers has teamed up with Sleater Kinney for an animated video!
There is always something magical about seeing musicians in cartoon, it’s funny and cute and Carrie, Corin and Janet have never looked so powerful at what they are doing. They make the Burgers crew bounce, kick and jump to the riotous tune, ‘A New Wave’, which is of course one song off Sleater Kinney’s latest release ‘No Cities to Love’.
Tina Belcher, the 13-year-old heroine of the series is apparently a fan of the Portland band, as she is the one popping up the CD at the beginning of the clip…What? a CD for a 13-year-old? Does this show the age of the writers of the show or what? Anyway, the band magically appears in her bedroom to rock the family’s socks. The animation is awesome and will ravish all Sleater Kinney’s fans and does it mean there is a big overlapping between the fanbases of the punk band and Bob’s Burgers?
The Simpsons, the other FOX cartoon, has been inviting famous musicians for a long time, Remember when the Ramones played or the Red Hot Chili Peppers or the White Stripes, or the Smashing Pumpkins, or … I can’t name all of them, because apparently more than 66 musicians appeared in the Simpsons!! So I wonder whether this is a new trend for the Bob’s Burgers series, and in this case I may start watching it.
