the best rappers around right now? Kendrick, Eminem, Weezy Jay Z -RAPPERS not hip hop, just rhyme and flow… maybe Nicki Minaj? Those are the tops, I know I know, Fabolous, Nas, Cam’ron, the Diplomats crew, Slaughterhouse, Pusha T, Danny Brown, Tyler, A$AP ferg maybe… but really that’s it.
So the quiet from Lil Wayne as he battles cash Money (which I thought he owned for some reason) has been deafening. Last time I saw Weezy was at Forst Hills last summer and it was absolutely great, with drake along, the two together were magnificent and I sure hope they tour again.
I also wish Weezy was playing Goverors Ball.
And finally I REALLY REALLY wish he’d release Tha Carter V, which, he told Rolling Stone, is completed and while we wait the mentor is taking a tip from grasshopper and releasing “Free Weezy” -a free album.
