I Can Change – Brandon Flowers – You gotta wonder why Brandon has gone synth-pop, the synth hook here is so 80s it is bizarrely and without the update Bleachers made. This is the third track off his new album, and really, one was lousy, one was good, and this is somewhere in the middle – B-
California Roll – Snoop Dogg – This soulful track is sweet indeed, Snoop always takes his genre excursions seriously, but the pun title is about as smart as it gets – C+
Disciples – Tame Impala – This is L.A. form of indie rock, sweet falsetto and a good lick and a nice trumpet, but it isn’t going anywhere – B-
24 Frames – Jason Isbell – A reader commented that he took the song to be a commentary on near death, since it is god and not dad who is a flamethrower he may well be right – A
