4 – Sliver – Nirvana – Cobain’s great achievement, the truest song not just of childhood but at the heart of one of the greatest rock stars of all time -it explains his psychic damage in a little over two minutes – A+
5 All Apologies – Nirvana – Gorgeous version, melody yes, but the most simple of licks so catchy the rest of the world still hasn’t written a better of the one, and the change of keys is devastating and moving, and in the end, the “buried” just cuts you to the quick. The vocals are buried true, but better to hear the acoustic guitar – A
