Fly Away – 5 Seconds Of Summer – There is a direct line, heading straight down, connecting the Buzzcocks thru Green Day to this Australian boy band. 5SOS aren’t the worst at this, “She’s So Perfect” is pretty good for one, and they are harmless live, but this one misses out as it sucks off their audience, finding good everywhere – C-
Willing And Able – Disclosure – The third song off the upcoming sophomore album uses a jazzy intro for an r&B dance track – B-
I’m In Love With A Monster – Fifth Harmony – Catchy diva soul number like its 1975 and they are on their way to lunch with Berry Gordy… catchy sucker off the soundtrack to “Hotel Transylvania 2” – B-
Never Ending Circles – CHVRCHES – Second song is the keeper after an earlier mistake, this is better living through science haunting indie dance rocker,… so I guess they’re back on track – B
The Fix – Nelly – I guess the Weeknd wasn’t around and so Jeremih had to do, fair enough but really? Basing a song around “Sexual Healing” in 2015? Gimme a break – C-
You Kill Me With Silence – Duran Duran – I met these guys once at a luncheon and thought they were unspeakably horrible… of course, I didn’t much like “Hungry Like A Wolf” and was still very punk ethos-y. This fucking sucks any way – D+
Heavy Metal Detox – Wavves – A great riff by a master, this is catchy alt rock with a splendid little tunefulness to go along with it – B+
If I Can Dream – Elvis Presley – A full blown heavy duty ballad, which ended the ’68 comeback, with a full orchestra behind it. Why? For money – C-
Drone – Fidlar – Hey, wait one darn minute here, is that a guitar solo? – B
