Boots Of Spanish Leather – Amos Lee, The Forest Rangers – Lee puts me to sleep but this is beautiful take on the early Dylan love song – B+
21+ – Butch Walker – The big time producer knows his way round a hook, the oooos here are money in the bank.
Being It – Cults – Never much on my radar even when they were this weird unknown cult band, this won’t do it although the sound is powerful in a wave building way – B-
Going My Way – Dart Party – Not bad at all local DJ working house and a great beat – B
Fuck It All – Elle Varner – How is this for a claim to fame? Her mom was a back up singer for Barry White! Superb r&b soul mix and best use of the f bomb since cee Lo had a pleasant disposition – B+
Villain – Liam Helm – speaking of claims to fame, this guy discovered my Winehouse, there is an album attached to this good hip hop track (featuring A$AP Fergie) which might be well worth checking out – B+
Every Age – Luis Gonzalez – painful acoustic strum und drang – C
Iggy SZN – Iggy Azalea –“ Everywhere I go they say it’s Iggy SZN / Until I l get what I want, I ain’t leaving… Simmer down bitch / It’s Iggy SZN,” Great hook – B+
Cellophane – the Pack A.D. – Filling the gap the White Stripes left behind them – B+
Long Way Down – Robert Delong – I saw Delong on stage once and I was impressed, but this is a bore electronic singer songwriter stuff – C+
Something Big – Shawn Mendes – Why exactly is this guy opening for Tay? This sucks – C
Stars Fell On Alabama – She & Him – This is a joke, shut the fuck up and leave me alone – D-
This Is The Love – Spandau Ballet – Simultaneously dated and pandering, its redeeming quality is Tony Hadley… again. The sax solo is sophisticated stuff but the song doesn’t stick – B
