Shut Up and Play the Hits, James Murphy At Sundance

James Murphy may claim to have been losing his edge but the LCD Soundsytem mastermind is just that- a mastermind.  After a virtually impossible to obtain ticket 'final show at MSG last year, we were assured there would be no more.  Of course, rocknyc was at that gig, cuz nothing is impossible for us.

Now comes word that the infamous Sundance Film Festival will premiere a rockumentary so to speak titled "Shut Up and Play The Hits', a chronicle of the day of and day after the final MSG performance.  Where did that title come from?  From the annoying Win Butler who barked out that line during the show.  See those hipsters always gotta make a scene.

Murphy, who in my opinion is a genius, actually does a bit of acting, in a movie called, "The Comedy".  A Sundance offering staring comedian Tim Heidecker as Swanson, an apathetic dude “on the verge of collapse,” as he wastes away his days with some “aging Brooklyn hipsters.” Not quite sure what  Murphy’s role is exactly , but it promises a “cautionary fable for the autumn of the American era.”

Im ready for both- bring um on.
Sundance takes place in Park City Utah, January 19 to 29.
