The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. Its a playground for the Rolling Stone folks void of any real meaning or reasoning but if your one of those weirdos who enjoy looking at artifacts- its a day trip to waste your cash on.
I, for one, have no interest. Having been surrounded by memorabilia (and the household goods!) of King Elvis Presley I can tell you that looking at a jumpsuit is really worthless unless the artist is in it. I suppose from a stalker vantage rock swag is interesting but I could really couldn’t care less about Beyonce’s shoes. Shes not even eligible (solo or with Destinys Child) to be inducted yet her shoes are on display at the Hall. Showing that they are a rogue operation with no focus but cash. $22.00 a head for Bey’s bodysuit? Yep.
Meredith Rutledge-Borger said she’s been drooling for Beyoncé “for a really long time.”
“When we looked at the depth of the amount of stuff that she was willing to send, we just thought, ‘The only way we can really showcase these items is to put them in the Legends of Rock area in the museum,’ which really is the spot that we have to pay tribute to legends of rock, which Beyoncé has proven herself to be,” she said in an interview.
Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, the general manager of Beyoncé’s production house, Parkwood Entertainment, said the singer was honored and humbled by the opportunity to have her personal items in the museum.
“For an artist to be able to have a presence where all of her idols and mentors live, it is a big deal,” she said. “It’s very meaningful to an artist when you feel like you’ve accomplished certain levels and to be asked to be part of this before she’s eligible, I think that’s really special.”
Beyonce’ is now considered a ‘legend of rock’. Didja catch that? So fuck off Elvis, and Hendrix Bey got center court. If this isnt some whacked out Illuminati shit I have no idea what is. I do think its a perfect PR nightmare for the Rock Hall.. oh wait they are their own PR as a monthy rag!
