Rock and Roll hall of fame is basically Rolling Stone magazines Disney World. They pretty much created a tourist attraction for themselves and bands that they like. Cool huh? The undisputed King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley has a designated area with a display that changes every two years. Nothing is worse than a stale exhibit.
“We’re using it as a chance to introduce some really iconic artifacts and also to change up the exhibition space. It’s more than just a refresh,” said rock hall president and CEO Greg Harris. “We all know Elvis didn’t invent rock ‘n roll. He was the shot heard ‘round the world for everybody to embrace it and be moved by it,” Harris said.
Yeah ok…so they borrow items from Graceland via Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Visitors lined up to watch a video montage and check out Presley’s 1975 custom made SuperTrike motorcycle and the white suit that he wore when he performed the song “If I Can Dream” in a television special. There’s also the script for a 1968 NBC special and a 1971 souvenir menu for Presley’s shows in Lake Tahoe, diamond rings, ID bracelet (the infamous TCB one!) There is also his military paperwork and all that jazz.
I love the idea of seeing musicians artifacts so to speak, I’m just not a fan of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Wait, you can actually just go to Graceland if you wanted to see Presleys stuff. Memphis is amazing! If you go there instead of Cleveland you’d also be able to visit Sun Studio and hop skip and jump to the birthplace of Elvis, Tupalo Mississippi!.
