Yikes, the 80’s was decades ago and there it should remain. For those of us who braved it we ended up damaged but functioning. Many are still stuck back there and can be pinpointed mostly by their giant hair or puffy sleeves, some trends don’t (nor should ever) come back
Some things do return and like it or not- you have to contend with it. Such is the case with the silly titled tour Retro Futura. I must first state this name is really pretty pathetic and the line up… well…. follows suit.
See its not the ‘bands’ represented but the fact that its one member of that former band performing their tunes. Tom Baily from The Thompson Twins (but no other twins) Ultravox’sMidge Ure, China Crisis and Katrina of Katrina And The Waves and no waves.. dig? Its really sad. The only people performing are the die hards from the bands the rest have moved on. Midge.. why? Youre a beast, its so beneath you.
“This will be the first time I’ve sung the Thompson Twins’ hits in decades,” Bailey said. “It’s taken a long time, but now I’m really looking forward to playing those songs to some of the fans that were there first time around.”
You may want to take a pass on this one.. its sorta sad.
