Pete Townshend Talks About Himself

October 8th is a big day in more ways than one.  Famous birthdays and in honor of that a new autobiography from Pete Townshend.  The legendary guitarist of The Who (and solo of course) is on his way to spilling all the beans of his incredible career.

Imagine first hand accounts of Keith Moons antics- that alone is worth the cost of the download (or physical book, of course).  Pete the usually quiet looking guy has promised to air all the dirty laundry regarding all the ‘craziness’, from the sex, drugs Mods, and dishing about Daltry, Entwhistle and Moon.

He says in a press release, 'I am lucky to be alive and to have such a crazy story to tell, full of wild adventures and creative machinations. I am happy that I am able to write my book myself, in my own ′voice′ that many readers will be hearing for the first time.'

'I am not my favourite subject, that will always be art and music, but whenever I write about my life and work I learn something.'

I am hopeful that he doesn’t use words like “machinations” in the course of his writings but that’s what editors are for, right?    The book titled “Who Am I?”, hits the shelved October 8th in the states and October 11 in the UK. We win!  This could be great- or it could be just another Keith Richards babble inspired rag.  We shall see.
