Panic! At The Disco, "Girlfriend In A Coma" cover

What's the deal with 90's alt pop bands breaking up reforming and covering acoustic 80's songs?  I suppose its fine tribute.  There is some great stuff to cover, that's for sure,  but its just a huge trend.

Panic is now covering The Smiths "Girlfriend In A Coma", from the "Take Forty Live Lounge'.  I was unfamiliar with this until I stumbled across this ditty.  Its a pretty interesting site from Australia

Take 40 Australia® brand encompasses radio, online, television and new media. Using a combination of radio airplay, digital and retail sales the Take 40 chart is Australia's most trusted record of the week's biggest songs.

First hitting the airwaves in 1984, Take 40 Australia® was hosted by radio legend Barry Bissell for 20 years, until he passed the torch to Andrew G in 2004. In January 2010, the Take 40 Australia reins were taken over by hit radio team Kyle and Jackie O.

Now broadcast nationally each week to over 1.2 million listeners, Take 40 is the country's most listened to weekly music radio programme. With a focus on the biggest stars, Take 40 Australia is truly 'the home of the hits!'
