The New York Dolls were formed in 1971
By 1973 Creem magazine had them holding the distinct title of Best AND Worst band of the year.
Lets face it they were classic NY trash and cool as hell. For the 70s to embrace the freaks the Dolls were there as ambassadors and I will always respect them for that.
According to Wikipedia there have been 14 members of this band over these many years and who cares about anyone of them but Johnny Thunders and Sylvain Sylvain I'm here to tell you with all due respect it is time to hang it up. Buster Johansen Poindexter looks like a deflated air bag and I'm scared.
Too old too sagged too spent too pathetic too nursing home pasty to be anything other than a sad reminder to the rest of us that time is unkind and we're all going to die soon.
For awhile I followed former dolls Steve Conte and Sami Yaffa on facebook but their splurging of righteousness got a bit overwhelming so I hit the X on um.
I respect the past. I honor it but I don't think it should be resurrected. Proof? Want proof?
