New York City's ‘Global Citizen Festival’ Lineup Trickle

big fun, big banter

big fun, big banter

These things take time .  When you throw a concert in Central Park you better make it good.  You’re talking the heart of Gotham so if you fuck it up .. you’re fucked.

So .. is that why we get Jay Z? The ol’ standby guy is back headlining the Global Citizen Festival along with the amazing Gwen Stefani and No Doubt. Personally I would reverse the bill making Gwen the headliner but hey it aint my gig.  Oh and fun, and Carrie Underwood hop on as well.

“Change only takes place when and where there is action,” Jay Z said.  “I’m joining the 2014 Global Citizen Festival because I believe through actions, whether it be by raising awareness, getting involved or educating ourselves, the goal to end extreme poverty by 2030 is possible.”

Yeah ok.. so this fest is a fundraiser / awareness raiser for Global issues and everyone gets to spew their uneducated political opinions to a bunch of rope corralled sweaty New Yorkers.

Central Park’s Great Lawn Sept. 27 in tandem with The UN General Assembly, this year’s show will be plugging securing contributions for the GAVI Alliance and the Global partnership for Education as well as promoting the “Water For The World Act,” a Congressional bill supporting efforts to bring clean sanitation to 1.25 billion woman worldwide.  Just the women of course, men need no sanitation, fuck um.

I have a problem with these preachy fests, no ones paying attention, the beer is flowing its too hot and people are just there to hear “Empire State of Mind” not hear about clean vagina’s.. well maybe that Im not sure.

There will be more performers and speakers so anticipate alot more of these snarky posts.  Keep in mind these are abbreviated sets on stripped down stages, so plan accordingly and bring the sunblock.
