Morrissey fans are more fanatic than most and the oddly titled “MozArmy”, sits in wait for his every move. I am not sure what that Army is fighting for- but they’re a rowdy lot who live and breathe on his every move. True-To-You .net, provides the window to his world and I can’t even imagine the refresh counts on that page recently.
Despite a tough 2012 with a record setting number of cancelled shows, illness and fallings out it seems that the publication of this biography, “Biography” reinforced his God like status to not only the Army- but a whole lot of casual fans.
Last month we were bestowed with word of a 25 stop North American Tour. Two stops with legends Tom Jones (LA) and Cliff Richards(NY) on board and the rest …well with Kristeen Young. This on the heels of more word that Harvest Records signed Moz to a 2 record deal…..TWO NEW RECORD DEAL! The Army rejoiced and with periodic news that Morrissey was recording in France the excitement grew.
And now.. voila! We have not only a title (fitting a God) but a proposed release date for the first new music (excluding that horrible ‘Satellite of Love” Lou Reed tribute thing) since 2009’s “Year of Refusal”. “World Peace is None of Your Business!”, is a fitting title for the king of sass. The current word is that it will release late June or early July. 12 new songs recorded and mastered in France. June cannot come sooner to his followers (me included)
