Morrissey has been interviewed by Ireland’s Hot Press magazine. It is his only interview forWorld Peace Is None Of Your Business, and it is available on August 7th (Thursday).
Morrissey is finalising plans for concerts in Athens (Greece), Istanbul (Turkey) and Rome (Italy), and he is hoping to include Bucharest (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary). A concert at Dublin’s 02 has been finalised.
And that’s all it took. Twitter lit up like a nuclear reactor as people started scrambling to tabulate airfares and ticket costs and jump the line scenarios. See those crazy Brits haven’t had a dose of Mozza in years and well this is their big chance. Its an endearing thing to watch the excitement mount but didja notice there is no dates in England and hmmm Romania?
Morrissey is an interesting case. His UK chart landing for week 1 of World Peace Is None of Your Business sat right by Ed Sheeran and never made it to number one. It parked itself at number 15 here in the US and it aint going no where but down from there.
But the rabid fans care nothing about charts. They just want to sit at Morrisseys alter. The problem with any of these ‘fan groups’ is there is always the rabid psychos who seem to have the answer for everything and share it at a tip of a hat. This could well be why I fit in to no group- I loathe the ‘know it alls’ and in the Moz camp it seems the women own this title. There are those in particular who are now on my hot list of loathe, there will come a day when I write about them. The sad women of Moz who follow him like Manson girls or the pseudo scholar assholes who Id love to punch in the face.
But hey this is about a Moz tour not my hatred of my peers- then again pretty much everything I write ends up with that.
