So dig this, there is a website called Morrissey-Solo and its one of those chit chatty message boards where fans banter back and forth over everything from the mans hair to his tours and as far as I can see its pretty bland.
It seems it wasn’t always such a blasé’ neighborhood and supposedly Morrissey has a beef with site owner ‘David T”. Eh, I hate just about everyone so I feel ya Mozza. Although I do feel that there are worse Morrissey fanatics out there that actually should be paying for their actions Morrissey Solo seems to be the target (at least in this scenario).
Former bodyguard, Bradley Steyn, has filed a lawsuit suggesting he lost his job for not being a hitman .. or whatever.
According to TMZ, Morrissey thought the site “invaded his personal life” and asked Steyn if the fan behind it “could get hurt”. The suit claims that Morrissey’s tour manager asked if the fan “could be gotten rid of” and discussed how to get the man’s address. Steyn refused to comply with the request, and was dismissed shortly thereafter.
Morrissey has yet to comment on the allegations
This is a busload of hub bub after cancelled tours (yeah nothing new there) Harvest Records pimpin’ his vinyl in a zillion different packages, Cliff Richard claiming Morrissey was still in hospital as reported exclusively by rock nyc, and other fan drama including the whomping of one idiot at the start of this past tour that caused the show to be halted.
Morrissey has a few camps of fans. The know it alls who can tell you the number of hairs on his ass cheeks and his pulse rate at each recording session, the ones who dig his music his politics, and think he’s a fox (that’s me!) and the Uber psychotics who live in worlds of fan fiction and verbal muscle tactics. Everyone wants a piece of the guy and someone’s gonna get one.
As I delve deeper into this Morrissey World (no reflection on the idiotic MorrisseyWorld bullshit from the fanatics, just a common phrase) I become more and more creeped out.
Morrissey is not an idiot. He doesn’t care enough about Morrissey-Solo to want to ‘hurt’ someone, but I have a funny feeling Mr Steyn has a garden full of roses and an empty wallet.
