Natalie Prass may be just another Twenty Feet from Stardom overeaching back up singer, her debut album hasn’t stuck and her voice is a little light and a little strange. but the uniqueness works to her favor, and the reason why she hasn’t stuck is because her songs are lush and quirky and lush at the same. The verdict is out till Monday at the Bowery Ballroom.

Monday – Nils Lofgren – BB Kings – I liked him with Grin, I liked him solo, and I liked him with the e Street band (well, until that godawful hall Of fame). Though it is an acoustic performance, I bet he can still cry tough.

Wednesday – Paramore – Beacon Theatre – Hayley still pushing the 2013 album? When you can write a song as great as the best one No Doubt never got to,”Still Into You”, she has every right to do so.

Wednesday – Hollis Brown – Webster Hall -Local indie folkie guys with a very good new single “3 Shots”, which rings like the Byrds, and with a classicists construction, playing small before opening for Counting Crows.

Wednesday – Todd Rundgren – Highlie Ballroom –  his newbie cuts out the hi-inx but still beats on his drim all day.

Thursday – John Cooper Clarke – Music Hall Of Williamsburg – The bloody train is bloody late, you bloody wait, you bloody wait…

Thursday – Noel Gallagher – Webster Hall – More than just a quote for desperate rock critics, if it was a friday (or if I wasn’t seeing him at Governors Ball) I’d be there.

Friday – Muse – Webster Hall – Fuck em

Saturday – The O’jay’s – King’s theatre – The sound of Philadelphia and still with a lot of power: time to get on the love train.

Saturday – The  Julie Ruin – My buddy is doing the mixing for Kathleen’s big time band.
