The Who never really recovered from Keith Moon’s death, and that’s true: it was a bigger disaster than you can even begin to imagine, despite Moon falling apart in the last few years. And the complaints about the 2013 tour? Not exactly unwarranted. But I end up with my Beethoven comparison… would you say “yeah, I don’t wanna see Ludwig, he’s too old and he’s deaf”? Neither would I. I’m going to Tuesday a Barclay Center. They’re also playing Saturday at Forest Hills.
Tuesday – Fidlar, Metz – Bowery Ballroom – Alyson Camus faves, the new Metz is a dog but this should be high octane punk for the masses.
Wednesday – Pixies – Beacon Theatre – Not a fan myself, but the harbingers of grunge and still kicking.
Thursday – Ed Sheeran – Forest Hills Stadium – A near perfect size for Ginger.
Thursday – Billy Joel – Madison Square Garden – Nearly a year and a half later and still selling em out.
Thursday – The Jon Spencer Blues Band – Bowery Ballroom – Remember when they were the next big thing? Still, not bad at all, their new album, Freedom Tower – No Wave Dance Party 2015, is is a goodie I managed to miss.
Friday – Billy Idol – JBL Live At Pier 97 – Kinda sucked when I saw him earlier this year, but that is one awesome shed -hard to find a place you can’t see from
Friday – Escort – Bowery Ballroom – World class disco band
Sunday – KTUphoria 105 – Jones Beach – Nice line up, Pitbull, Kelly Clarkson, Shaggy… lotsa big names.
