I saw Cat Stevens/Yusef at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction earlier this year. He only played three song and they were all great and at the time I was furious the E Street Band received over an hour and Stevens just 20 minutes. Well, it will take a trip to Philadelphia’s Tower on Thursday but we will get to see a full Stevens gig for the first time in decades.
Monday – James Blake – MHOW – Blake might be a little static live, still both of his albums are the best of electronic singer songwriter
Wednesday – Yo La Tengo – I haven’t loved one of their albums since 1997, but haven’t not liked one ever, always good live until they get their sonic youth on.
Thursday – The 1975 – T5 – If we must listen to UK rock, by all means these guys over Royal Blood.
Friday – Tune-Yards – MHOW – the thing about Tune-Yards is, hipsters be damned, she is a s good as everyone says she is. Nobody loops half as well either.
Friday – James Taylor – MSG – Last time I saw him here, Taylor was with Taylor Swift. The time before that he was with Carole King. Range, or something like it.
