Let’s Active: rock nyc Concert Picks Week Of August 24th, 2015
I prefer things that are perfectly what they are: it makes me happy when constructions are exactly what they are and AC/DC are exactly what they are. In 2015, they are a hard rock machine, which, even with half of the band MIA – Malcolm retired and Rudd in a mountains of trouble, this band is sine quo non metal band and terrific live. With last year’s Rock Or Bust, to sell AC/DC will be filling up Metlife on Wednesday, catch the dirty deeders done cheap!
Tuesday – Larry Graham & Graham Central Station – BB Kings – The inventor of slap bass playing and former member of the Family Stone, I once saw this man get on stage with Prince and teach him a lesson in funk. An all time great.
Wednesday – J Geils Band – Beacon Theatre – I once saw these guys blow Bon Jovi so far off stage at Metlife it wasn’t even funny.
Thursday – Sean Price – Memorial Show Music By: PF Cuttin & Statik Selektah Hoste – The superb rapper, dead too soon at 42 years of age, remembered.
Saturday – Laid Back Fest: Gregg Allman, Doobie Brothers, Bruce Hornsby & more! – Jones Beach – I have a tix to this but it may just be a touch too late back for my tastes. Let’s see how the stash holds up.
