I had tickets to see No Doubt at Roseland years ago and blew it off to check out Nustrat Ali Khan, not a bad trade off, but it is one I don’t need to make Saturday at Central Park for the Global Citizen Festival where they headline along with the likes of Jay Z, Carrie Underwood, fun., The Roots and Tiesto .
Tuesday – Lily Allen – T5 – Disappointing at Highline last year, and the album could’ve been better, but still, she is the person in pop.
Wednesday – Christopher Owens – Music Hall Of Williamsburg – The man breaths melody, and his quietness doesn’t work against him on stage
Thursday – Slaughter And The Dogs – Grand Victory – Original Manchester punk rockers, still around? Well, well.
Thursday – Train – Radio City Music hall – Amazingly enough, their new album has its moments.
Friday – Iggy Azalea – Pier 97 – Fancy? Should be a big gig for the Australian rapper.
Friday – Tennis – Webster Hall – After dismissing the new album Ritual In repeat, “Bad Girls” girl group mood caught my ear. They sure have their moments.
Saturday – Fabolous – BB Kings – Last time I saw Fabolous at this very venue, he was smart, gregarious and could swing his raps from the rafters. Accept no less.
Sunday – Lydia Loveless – The Studio At Webster hall – earlier this year, she disappointed opening for Old 97’s but told me, I needed to see her open. And if it wasn’t a Sunday I would do.
