Led Zeppelin fans are getting very excited since the band has started a mysterious count down on their facebook page. The band has been teasing everyone by posting a big FIVE on Saturday and a FOUR on Sunday, leading to endless speculations about what it could mean or what the announcement could be when we reach ZERO, which should be on Thursday!
When ‘Five’ was up, people thought it could mean that a fifth album was in the works, but now that we have a four, this hope has been partially crushed, still there are always stubborn dreamers.
Right now, the most spread rumor is that an upcoming DVD of their 2007 O2 reunion concert is gonna be released this week, since this concert exactly happened 5 years ago, but many are also hoping for a reunion tour or something else more exciting.
But it seems that the DVD theory is the most probable one, since Peter Mensch, Jimmy Page’s manager, tweeted on Saturday afternoon: ‘It’s almost here. I’ve seen it and heard it. Almost 5 years to the day.’
NME is also pointing that Robert Plant said in 2011 he was not interested in a reunion:
‘I've gone so far somewhere else that I almost can't relate to it…It's a bit of a pain in the pisser to be honest. Who cares? I know people care, but think about it from my angle – soon, I'm going to need help crossing the street.’
At least someone who is realistic and honest, I don’t know why people are always hoping for reunions, reunions are often disappointing anyway, many things belong to the past and can’t be relived, we have to accept this. People get old, the music get old too, and nostalgia is not always a good thing. So Led Zeppelin’s heads, forget about the tour and watch this DVD on Thursday!
