Led Zeppelin's "Celebration Day" Tracklist Announced

In 2007 Led Zep agreed to do a favor for the founder of Atlantic Records.  Ahmet Ertegun be one upright dude to get a band who swore off live shows to do it ‘one more time’   We have all heard the numbers by now, more than 20 million people applied for the chance to buy 18,000 tickets at the O2 Arena in London.

Are the numbers inflated?  Perhaps rounded up but the point remains that I doubt you can name another show that required you to apply to buy.  27 years since their last show- fans were mangy and junkyard dogs to get a glimpse.  The children of fans were now fans and weren’t even alive so all the more fervor.

Omniverse Vision has made this monumental event into a film titled “Celebration Day” and for one night in 1,500 theaters people will sit down and watch what those 18,000 people saw 5 years ago.  Rocknyc is proud to say we will be interviewing the film’s director Dick Carruthers this week so stay tuned for that.

Dick Carruthers is no newbie to rock and roll movies.  Having directed bands from Oasis to Portishead in their big screen debuts.

“Celebration Day” hits the screen on October 17th.  Popcorn and classic rock, making an interesting Wednesday night.
