Last Call: Week of September 15th, 2014

Lemonade
Lemonade

Another week, another column. Here we are going to listen to the last track of ten albums released the previous week, to see how it closes up and to say goodbye to albums we probably wont have the chance to listen to again till the end of the month.

1. Minus Tide – Lemonade – The electronic pop duo close up their new album with a snappy beat, heavy but slow and dreamy closing down – B+

2. God Alert Part 2 – In Bardo – Sounds like 80s synth pop but in a good way – B

3. Don’t Grow Up So Fast – Train – Lullaby of a ballad – C+

4. Black Jacket – Tim McGraw – Memory song, sounds a little like Taylor Swift, nice chorus for a romance gone, the chorus is two lines too long – B-

5. The Unholy – Slash, Myles Kennedy – Haunted hard rock ballad, really painful stuff – C

6. Witches – Sir Sly – Electronic adieu didgery and twitchy – B

7. Apparition – My Brightest Diamond – Sounds like a haunted house, creeks and coils – B+

8. Whiskey Used To Barn – Lea brice – Sounds like it was recorded by a swimming pool at home… but I doubt it – C+

9. Waves – Lia Ices – Deep booming beats behind a dreamy vocal – B+

10. Whole Hearted – of King And cuntry – Hmmm, this is what I was hoping for, a surprisingly good song on a lousy album: sweet natured anthem – B
